Weston Helidays 2004 Gallery and Report

Another Spectacular Helidays Weekend happened on
Beach Lawns, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, UK, on 23rd, 24th & 25th July 2004

From the German Army Air Corps this CH-53G, heavy transport helicopter, 84+82, from MTHR-15, is currently based at Rheine-Bentlage. Westland Lynx HAS.3, XZ238, from the Royal Navy's No.815 Squadron, carries the code 434 and is assigned to Endurance Flight at Yeovilton. The Royal Netherlands Air Force 298 Squadron, at Soesterberg, now part of the Tactical Helicopter Group, sent this Boeing CH-47D, ser D-665.
Alan Jardine's McDonnell Douglas 369E (Model 500E), G-MRAJ, hovers briefly  before landing on Beach Lawns. The Agusta HH-3F Pelican, Ser. 15-32, of the Italian AF, is employed on SAR duties and is based at Trapani, in Sicily. This black Westland SA.341C Gazelle HT.2, G-CBGZ, was one of the first civil-registered machines to arrive at Helidays.

Bell 412EP Griffin HT.1, ZJ239, from the Defence Helicopter Flying School which is run by FBS at RAF Shawbury. SAR helicopter AB412SP, serial R-02, is from 303 Squadron of the Royal Netherlands AF and is based at Leeuwarden. Bell 206B Jet Ranger, G-BXRY, c/n 208 was imported, in 1997, from the USA, where it had been registered as N4054G.
The AAC Historic Flight flew their Sud Aviation Alouette II, XR379, from Middle Wallop, where it has been since 1961. Robinson R-44 Astro, G-KYDD, ready to land on Beach Lawns on Saturday after flying from Wellesbourne. Built in 1994. Agusta-Bell AB212AM, 4-66, came from the 604th Rescue and Liaison Flight at the Italian Air Force base near Grosseto.
