Weston Helidays 2006 Gallery

The RAF's Red Arrows opened a two-hour, sea front air display at Weston-super-Mare on 26th July as a curtain-raiser to the extended "Helidays Plus" which continued until Sunday 30th July 2006.

After the air displays SA330H Puma HC.1, ZJ954, (ex SAAF 144), of 33 Sqn, brought the nine Red Arrows pilots back, to meet their 'fans' in Weston. This Army Air Corps WS Gazelle AH.1, XX447, '5' from the "Blue Eagles", landed on Beach Lawns following the team's display with a Lynx and three other Gazelles. Westland Scout AH.1, XT626, landed for a few minutes after taking part in the AAC Historic Flight's display at the Weston Seaside Airshow on 26th July.
EHI-101 Merlin HM.1, ZH838, from Culdrose, opened the show on Friday, with a flypast. Bell 407, N120HH, registered in Delaware, was among the early arrivals on Friday morning. SA330L Puma HC.1, ZE449, from No.33 Squadron, Benson, served in Basrah in 2005.
Bell 206B Jet Ranger 3, G-BEWY
Immaculate as usual, on its 15th Helidays appearance, was SA341G Gazelle I, G-LOYD. Polo Aviation's Bell 206B Jet Ranger 3, G-BEWY, was back on the beach wih pleasure flights. Robinson R44 Raven 2, G-GDAV, was another early arrival on Friday. First registered in 2005.
Sud Aviation Alouette AH.2, XR379, from the AAC Historic Flight, based at Middle Wallop. Bell 412EP Griffin HT.1, ZJ239 is from the SAR training unit of the DHFS at Valley in Anglesey.  Westland Lynx AH.7, ZD281, from the "Blue Eagles", arrived with four WS Gazelles AH.1.
